The Republic of Rome

The Republic of Rome is a simulation of the Roman Senate's politics, spanning over 250 years of history. Players represent factions competing for control by managing powerful families, vying for state offices, military command, and economic powers. Cooperation is vital to prevent Rome's fall; if it collapses, all players lose. Players propose Senate actions, and their power in the game is influenced by the number of Senators they control and the influence those Senators hold. Proposals might include provincial governance, army recruitment, addressing public issues, or making office appointments. While players work to strengthen their own influence, they must also unite against threats like wars and famine to prevent Rome's collapse. Winning is achieved by making a General or Senator emperor, but their downfall could come unexpectedly from illness or assassination.
