In "Roads & Boats," players begin with limited resources like donkeys, geese, boards, and stones, and must develop a civilization focused on logistical transport to create new goods. The game includes a modular board setup with various pieces and clear acrylic sheets for drawing roads. Players own only what their transporters carry, and all production facilities are communal, allowing others to use or take goods left unclaimed. The objective is accumulating wealth and victory points through resource management and strategic planning. The 20th Anniversary Edition includes the "&cetera" expansion, and later editions feature upgraded player transporter tokens.
