Players create electrical networks on the board by linking cities and then energizing them by acquiring power plants and the necessary resources. This is the initial edition of the game, released solely by 2F Spiele, and it underwent numerous modifications, such as payout schedules and a fixed board, to develop Funkenschlag Second Edition (known as Power Grid).
